Exhibiton: World in a shell

The building of the Polliniferoused Container is drawing to an end. The tent is made and the weather station is beeing installed. One by one the water modules are beeing finished. Only a few weeks and they will be part of the whole installation at the NAI in Rotterdam.

Poppenkastspel tijdens de Kunstmarkt

A.s. zaterdag (6 Maart 2010) geven de kinderen van klas D van 2e Montessori basisschool 't Winterkoninkje hun eerste poppenkastspel voorstelling. De kinderen hebben de poppen zelf gemaakt en ook de 6 verhalen die voorgedragen zullen worden, zijn ontsproten aan de fantastie van de kinderen zelf.
Het belooft een mooi spectacel te worden.
De poppenkast voorstelling wordt gegeven als onderdeel van de Kunstmarkt die jaarlijks wordt gehouden op 't Winterkoninkje, om geld in te zamelen voor nieuwe speel- en leermiddelen en dit jaar ook om geld op te halen ter ondersteuning van de slachtoffers van de ramp in Haiti.

I just became a fan of Folkert De Jong

Today made a visit to the Groninger Museum. Had wanted to go for ages, but today finally acctually did. I already loved his work on the photo's I had seen, but going around the rooms with the installations, with his sculptures was amazingly inspiring. Thank you Folkert for your inspiring work and craftmenship!

Some projects are short and fast, some are not... Having finished this set of wooden boxes has maybe been one of the most challenging projects for me so far. Not for the pieces themselves, but the whole combination of finding technical solutions, usabillity, finance and the ti
me-schedule have made it to an extremely challenging project for me.
I can hardly wait for the modules to be completely assembled and see them opperating in the Polliniferoused Container, somewhere in Africa or any other place around the world.
